Quantum Simulations and Energy Materials
A multi-year programme studying quantum transport across molecular junctions and nano-structured materials — from charge to heat transport, excited states and dynamics. The work bridges electronic-structure theory with materials discovery for energy applications, with the goal of efficient nano-refrigerators and thermoelectric devices that recover wasted heat at the nanoscale.

Three funders, one programme.
African Academy of Sciences (AAS)
Implementing partner of the ARISE pilot programme. Manages grants, reporting and capacity-building activities.
African Union
Co-funder of the ARISE programme — supporting cross-border research and capacity infrastructure.
European Union
Co-funder of ARISE — backing the multi-year continental research initiative aligned with EU-AU partnerships.
